By far the best place to get a sit-down meal in dryden. The building is the historic mill supervisor's house, which means it's loaded with charm. Lake of the Woods brewery beer on tap, and specials worth ordering. The rooms at the lodge are reasonably priced, and quite large but are in need of a Reno. Taps occasionally produce rusty water and need to be run for a while before showering. The view of the river is somewhat marred by the enormous mill.
Go to their fine dining restaurant and order the prime rib, its amazing! And love that they had a feature wine list with 3 great wines. We had the Chianti which was lovely. I came across Dryden driving across Ontario from Toronto and this meal was a diamond in the rough. Amazing food quality and service. Stayed at the lodge too, which was a convenient one-stop shop after a long drive.
Right on the river, these rooms are very spacious and well maintained. Two different places to eat within the same hotel. The service at both the restaurants and at the front desk were excellent! It's an older building so thinking like keycards are lacking and the decor could use an update.
Attended for a work conference. Lodge is showing its age. No elevator access to lower conference room. Limited tables and very small projector screen. Staff is very friendly and helpful but facilities require updating.
Staff very welcoming and friendly.Rooms are big, beds firm and comfy, and rooms a spotlessly clean.Has a real rustic feel, as one would expect from an establishment going back to the 1940's. Restaurant is pricey, but the food was excellent and the service impeccable. The Lemon cheesecake I had for afters was sublime. Fitting end to a perfectly cooked, custom cut New York steak. Well worth the splurge. I have a theory that a kitchen that can produce properly cooked fried calamari, or scrambled eggs, is run by a chef who knows his game. Certainly the case here. Two "opportunities" though:The AC in Room 101 developed a bit of a noisy speed wobble during the night, with summer upon us, it might be beneficial to have that looked at.I would have enjoyed a solid sugar free protein with the Continental breakfast. All in all though, we had a great time staying at the lodge. We will be back.
